As the spread of COVID-19 around the world continues, Taylor & Francis remains committed to ensuring all relevant research is available to those who are at the forefront of research into mitigating its impact:

• Providing free access to vital research
  • Taylor & Francis has centralised access to relevant Taylor & Francis journal articles and book chapters
  • F1000Research has created a dedicated Gateway to showcase research published in this area, including preprints, to ensure immediate access to the latest research developments
  • As signatories to NIH’s Access to Research initiative, along with the Wellcome Trust’s coordinated action on sharing research data and findings relevant to the outbreak, Taylor & Francis has been working with WHO to ensure this content is clearly signposted. Taylor & Francis commends the OSTP’s initiative to centralise resources on PubMed and is currently working with them to ensure rapid human and machine-readable access (where possible) to research articles and data through the NLM’s Litcovid portal
• Prioritising rapid publication of COVID-19 materials
  • Taylor & Francis is working with its editors to prioritise peer review of all relevant research. Taylor & Francis is also focusing its workflow to ensure that materials related to the outbreak are fast-tracked through the publication process once they are approved. Editors are proactively encouraging authors to publish and share the data that forms the basis of their research in line with FAIR data principles, and publisher’s own data policies
• Supporting remote learning
  • Taylor & Francis does not anticipate any disruption to service on the Taylor & Francis Online and Taylor & Francis Ebooks platforms
    • Authentication options for Taylor & Francis Online: The guide on Taylor & Francis Online details the many ways library users can access journal content remotely, including institutional IP ranges, proxy servers, SAML solutions, and Google CASA. This has been updated to include a new site development, enabling users to access their institution’s holdings through their individual Taylor & Francis Online account. There’s also a guide to remote access written for library users available in the Taylor & Francis Online Help Center
    • Authentication options for Taylor & Francis eBooks: Researchers have a range of options for accessing content on our eBooks platform, including IP addresses, proxy servers, Shibboleth and OpenAthens. See the eBooks authentication guide for full details
  • Taylor & Francis is proud to be working with several partners to support access to Taylor & Francis ebooks and etextbooks. For students who are no longer able to access core textbooks on campus because their university has closed, Taylor & Francis is providing free access to ebooks through its partnerships with VitalSource, Kortext (in conjunction with JISC), and Red Shelf through the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester
