Open Access agreements

Heal-Link has endorsed Open Access (hereinafter OA) since the beginning of the OA movement adopting policies and practices that support both the green and the gold OA route. Specifically, with regards to the gold route, HEAL-Link has signed several agreements with scientific publishers with a provision for OA publications covering the respective APCs partially or fully, and has joined a few memberships and OA initiatives.

For the time being, all the agreements with the provision for OA publications support the publication of articles only in scientific electronic journals. To enable OA provision, the corresponding author ought to be affiliated with a HEAL-Link member and state his/her affiliation in the article while the manuscript should be submitted with the author’s institutional email address. Τhere is a detailed description of the eligibility criteria at the end of the page, referring to authors not “actively affiliated” with HEAL-Link members institutions.

We recommend that you carefully read the terms of each agreement, because they are different for each publisher. Additionally, you may search for the title of an eligible journal and/or choose one of the available options, i.e. journals with a discount or with a waiver, via the tool Index of Eligible Open Access Journals.
